How Good was Prime Dwight Howard?
With Dwight Howard recently signing to Taiwan, we have truly forgotten how dominant he truly was in his prime. The fact that he was snubbed of the NBA75 list even though his numbers and accolades were incredible is just absolutely unbelievable. Dwight Howard was one of the most dominant centers to ever play the game of basketball. During his prime, he was a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor, earning accolades and putting up impressive statistics. Howard's prime years were from 2007 to 2012. In that span, he led the league in rebounds per game for five seasons in a row and blocks per game for two seasons. He was also a six-time All-NBA First Team selection and a five-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the All-Defensive First Team five times. In addition to his individual accomplishments, Howard also led his team, the Orlando Magic, to the NBA Finals in 2009.
